Initial telephone consultation
I offer a free 10-15 minute telephone consultation to talk about your main difficulties, and to discuss whether I can help.
At your first appointment or assessment session, we will talk about what has brought you to seek therapy. I will ask you questions about your current difficulties, and about any past experiences that seem relevant to how you’re feeling now.
This first meeting will give you an insight into the therapy process and will give you an opportunity to get a sense of whether I am the right therapist for you.
After the first session, we will come up with a plan as to how we can work together to move forward with your difficulties. This will include agreeing on the number and on the frequency of sessions (typically weekly or fortnightly) you will require, and a discussion about the therapeutic approaches that I would be likely to be drawing on in our work.
Some of the approaches offered include CBT, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. The therapeutic approach I offer is always tailored to the individual’s needs.
